Recently UnrealIRCd fixed some bugs that improve the overall user experience.
While a release of a stable version is scheduled to the end of September or early October (nothing concrete yet), PTirc decided that the benefits overcome the risks and we will install the latest fixes.

UnrealIRCd just released a new release candidate, with several new security features and bugfixes.
While PTirc tries to be as much stable as possible I’m a tester for UnrealIRCd itself which means that sometimes, at some point, PTirc will be using some testing releases like it’s today’s case.
The network update will be carried around 2PM (GMT+2) and the network is expected to be unreachable for less than 1 minute.

Olá,
Durante anos a PTirc tem tentado afirmar-se no mundo do IRC.
Infelizmente, devido ao declínio experimentado pelo IRC nos últimos anos, tem sido extremamente difícil trazer novos utilizadores para a rede à exceção de alguns que me conhecem de comunidades de ajuda tais como do UnrealIRCd como do Anope.
Estando a PTirc em funcionamento desde 2016 e sendo que a afluência de utilizadores tem sido bastante mais baixa que o esperado, a rede poderá estar a caminhar a passos largos para o seu fim.
Se tal não acontecer, o mais provável será eu transformar a rede numa rede de testes para UnrealIRCd, Anope e apenas com um servidor, deixando definitivamente de me preocupar com a estabilidade da mesma.
Durante anos tentei travar uma luta contra redes mais conhecidas e com mais peso no mundo do IRC (tanto nacionais como estrangeiras), que eu já desconfiava estar condenada ao fracasso.
É com um grande pesar no coração que escrevo este artigo.
A todos aqueles que se foram ligando à PTirc, que nos acompanharam e disseram palavras de encorajamento quando as nossas forças faltavam: MUITO OBRIGADO!

For years, PTirc has been trying to assert itself in the world of IRC.
Unfortunately, due to the decline experienced by IRC in recent years, it has been extremely difficult to bring new users to the network with the exception of a few who know me from help communities such as UnrealIRCd and Anope.
Since PTirc has been in operation since 2016 and the influx of users has been much lower than expected, the network may be heading towards its end.
If this doesn’t happen, it will most likely be that I transform the network into a test network for UnrealIRCd, Anope and with just one server, definitely stopping worrying about its stability.
For years I tried to fight against better-known networks with more weight in the world of IRC (both national and foreign), which I already suspected was doomed to failure.
It is with a great heavy heart that I write this article.
