O UnrealIRCd (IRCd utilizado pela PTirc) descobriu, através de testes internos, uma falha grave no software e fez um post sobre isso na quinta feira.

Aparentemente essa falha (ainda não divulgada), torna possível que um utilizador normal faça o IRCd “crashar”.
Desta forma, uma versão corrigida (UnrealIRCd 6.1.4) será lançada este sábado, 16 de dezembro de 2023, às 16h GMT.

a PTirc irá então proceder à atualização dos seus servidores e, durante a atualização, a rede irá necessitar de ser reiniciada mais que uma vez, o que fará com que a mesma fique inacessível durante breves momentos.

UnrealIRCd (IRCd used by PTirc) discovered, through internal tests, a serious flaw in the software and made a post about it on Thursday.

Apparently this flaw (not yet disclosed) makes it possible for a normal user to make the IRCd “crash”.
Therefore, a fixed version (UnrealIRCd 6.1.4) will be released this Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 16:00 GMT.

PTirc will then update its servers and, during the update, the network will need to be restarted more than once, which will make it inaccessible for brief moments.
